Al-Abbas Shrine discussing with Intl investigation team enhancing cooperation to document extremist crimes

The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, together with the delegation of the UN international investigation team, discussed enhancing joint cooperation in the field of documenting extremist crimes.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, together with the delegation of the UN international investigation team, discussed enhancing joint cooperation in the field of documenting extremist crimes.

During the meeting, which brought together members of the Iraqi Center for documenting extremist crimes of the department, with the delegation of the international investigation team, they discussed strengthening accountability for crimes committed by ISIL terrorist gangs, and documenting the events related to the Speicher massacre.

The meeting was attended by a number of survivors of the massacre who gave their statements to the head of the UN investigation file and a number of relatives of the victims.

The director of the Center, Dr. Abbas al-Qurayshi, said that"the meeting with the international investigation team aims to understand more deeply the humanitarian effects of this heinous crime, and to demonstrate the center's efforts in uncovering the facts and achieving justice for the victims and their families."

He added that " recent statistics indicate that the number of victims in the Speicher massacre reached (2157) martyrs," stressing that effective cooperation between the two parties contributes to documenting the events and understanding the full context of this tragedy.
